The Sunshine Learning Center
Presents its First Ever Correspondence Course

Creative Writing (1/2 credit elective)
After 11 years of developing its programs, the Sunshine Learning Center is piloting its first ever correspondence class.  The program was developed to provide SLC quality classes for less money and to alleviate the need to drive to our location.  This program is available for students of all ages.
Here’s how it works:

  1. Students register for the class (students can register at any time during the school year, even summers)
  2. Each student receives detailed instructions on how to write four assignments (narrative essay, descriptive essay, short story, SAT essay)
  3. After writing an assignment, students submit paper via email
  4. The teacher will print, correct, grade, and mail back the paper after it is received
  5. Students will then rewrite the paper, incorporating the teacher’s comments and corrections and email it back to the teacher a second time.
  6. Again, the teacher will print, correct, grade, and mail back the paper after it is received
  7. Again, students will rewrite the paper, incorporating the teacher’s comments and corrections and email it back to the teacher a third and final time.
  8. The teacher will then issue a final grade for the assignment based on the two drafts and the final paper.
  9. This process will be repeated three more times.  Once for each paper.
  10. Students can do this course at their own pace as long as it is completed within 6 months of enrollment.

At the end of the course each student will have produced 4 high quality papers.  The focus of this course is to help expand and develop the student’s creative thinking process.  It is not designed to tackle the technique areas of writing such as punctuation and MLA formats.

Cost of Class $250
